One more blog post to tell you about!  A site called Shop the Fifty is dedicated to informing people about the great products made right here in the fifty states.  Tara Brannon, the blogs founder started her search for American made products while out trying to find a polo shirt for her husband and being frustrated at only finding ones imported from other countries.  After a few days and weeks of looking she did successfully find American made polo shirts that were of high quality.  She then became obsessed with finding other American made products.  My shop is featured in her post about The Chevron. It is the classic print that has been all over the place for the last year or so with no signs of slowing down. The photo above is one of my favorite American made chevron items, and it is made by a fellow Etsy shop owner.  The shop is called Little Ocean with all of her items being made from recycled or vintage items, which is even better!
I encourage you to check out the shopthefifty.com blog and maybe it will send you off in search for your own Made In America products!

A few months back I mentioned that The Olive Crow was going to be featured in a blog on the importance of pet adoption.  I am excited to say that it has came out, and I ask you to take a visit!  Rachel is the lovely owner of this blog: http://squishedbugsmoothie.blogspot.com/.  She has many tips for people who are thinking of adopting a dog all the way to the experienced dog owner.  She also has many interviews with owners of dog themed shops, including myself!  Please check out my interview as well as others and the rest of the informative blog.  Enjoy!

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!  I have high hopes for 2012, in my life and my business.  Yes, I made the cliche new years resolution, this years is to learn something new.  In the back of my head that really means learn the romantic language of Italian.  It is something that I have always wanted to learn, but now I have to figure out how to start.  I told my husband the way to learn a language is to live there and immerse yourself in the culture, but unfortunately he wasn't falling for it.

This February will be the mark of my one year anniversary of my shop opening!  I am thrilled about how it has grown and where I see things going.  This year I have been asked to be featured in two magazines!  The first is Equestrian Magazine.  Yes, it is a horse themed magazine but the section I will be featured in is their "What We Like Now" page.  This page features five items that don't necessarily have to do with horses that the magazine decides it likes and wants to feature.  The duvet cover they picked is my Yellow/Oatmeal Zebra Duvet.  The other magazine I will be in is Country Living.  They are doing a story on dog beds and love my Wilson Stripe Dog Duvet!!  I have shipped one to NYC and the issue will be out in April.  You should of seen me when I read the email, I couldn't stop screaming I was so excited!!  I am absolutely thrilled that my little shop is getting interest from national magazines, I would never of dreamed!

I would like to wish everyone a year full of joy, happiness, and laughter!
